A while back, I posted on using Google forms to collect assessment data as you grade.
Since then, I’ve been working to integrate my workflows for helping students to draft essays, marking up the finished essays in Google docs, and assessing the class’ work in forms.
Here’s what that workflow looks like right now.
This is such a great workflow – excited to see how Canvas and Speedgrader can make it even easier for faculty! No longer do you have to create the Google folders … Canvas does all of the collaboration work for you.

I endorse Laurie’s comments and encourage colleagues to use the tools Canvas offers. The “speedgrader” is great; files stay together; and tied into an electronic gradebook, students get up-to-date and accurate information about their success in class.
